Michael Mills BSc FCA - Chairman

Michael is a Chartered Accountant and has significant operating and financial experience in many service and manufacturing sectors. This includes senior financial roles in BTR plc and Bunzl plc both international businesses with operations across North America, Europe and Australia and five years in Private Equity as a Director of Apax Partners.

His recent public company positions include Chairman of RMR plc and of investment trust, Advance Value Realisation Limited and interim CEO of a US/UK health equipment business. He was formerly Managing Director and a non-executive of S Daniels plc.

He is currently chairman of Legacy Distribution Group Inc, a US business and a director of Ultrasis plc, both of which are listed on AIM. He is Chairman of an early stage business in brand development and of a British School based in New York.

 

Graham Brown - Chief Executive

Graham has extensive international general management experience in the UK, Europe, North America and Asia Pacific regions. His roles have included business development, acquisitions, investment, formulating exit strategies and fund raising.

Graham was formerly Director for Worldwide Operations at Tadpole Technology plc an LSE quoted technology company. He also served as President of Tadpole Technology Inc growing the hardware business and acquiring a Korean owned competitor in California. Graham was also President of the software business, Tadpole Cartesia, which was formed following the acquisition of a number of software technology companies. He also serves on the advisory boards of a number of international businesses in Europe and North America.

Graham previously worked for ICL (now Fujitsu) and also held a number of senior management positions with Santa Cruz Operations Inc (USA). Senior roles included sales and marketing, product development, customer services and mergers & acquisitions.

Graham grew up in the Middle East and has managed operations in many parts of the world including periods in Germany, Singapore and the USA. Graham holds a BSc (Tech) Hons from the University of Wales, Institute of Science and Technology.

 

Christopher John James Barker - Associate Director

Chris is an equity capital markets professional with 11 years multi-disciplined experience in advising companies from early start up enterprises to constituents of the FTSE 100. After 4 years in the corporate broking department of Barclays de Zoete Wedd Equity Capital Markets, Chris specialised in smaller company and mid-cap corporate finance advice with Noble Group acting as lead adviser on some 47 flotations, numerous secondary market acquisitions, fund raisings and reversal transactions. Following a one year sabbatical in the property development arena, Chris joined Bishopsgate Capital Management to set up and head the corporate finance division. In June 2004, Chris joined Athanor's corporate finance equity team to specialise in the small to mid-cap market.

 

John Flaherty - Appointed Representative

John has over 25 years experience in the fixed income and equity trading environment, gained with leading investment banks such as Toronto Dominion Bank, ING Barings, Mitsubishi Trust International, Daiwa Europe and CSFB Securities. John acts as broker to UK, European and North American domiciled institutions trading in UK and US Equities. John was appointed an Appointed Representative to Athanor, in the guise of Athenrye Securities Limited, in June 2004 and heads up Athanor's Agency dealing desk.

 

David Massey - Appointed Representative

David has over 20 years City experience, with a focus on smaller companies. Originally a UK equities fund manager he moved into corporate finance with a stockbroking house before becoming a financial journalist, where he was the Managing Editor of the AFX Newswire service and the market correspondent for CNBC Europe. For the last few years David has concentrated on smaller company IPOs, M&A and private equity transactions. David has a law degree from Oxford University and is the author of “The Investor’s Guide to New Issues”.
